What the pearl means
Made beautiful through what hurt
A pearl is the oyster’s answer to something that hurts it. It can’t push the grit out, so it covers it, layer by layer, until the wound becomes the most beautiful thing it owns. God does the same with ours.
“To give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness.”
